  2.                               A Municiple Course
  3.                               in San Antonio TX

  5.         Perhaps one of the finest municiple golf courses in the country.
  6.   It was designed by Fingers and Dye, and built in 1988 by the City of San
  7.   Antonio.  It is in the Texas Hill Country in the Northwest of San
  8.   Antonio.  Unfortunately it is too difficult for most Sunday duffers, so
  9.   current playing time hovers around 5 1/2 - 6 hours.

  11.         In my efforts to design this course, I borrowed several objects
  12.   from the Compuserv Library and the background from one of the courses
  13.   there. Several of the object are of my own efforts, but I don't excell at 
  14.   the creative/artsy stuff.  I played with the palette, trying to achieve a
  15.   sun burnt rough effect. I'm happy with the result, I hope you enjoy it 
  16.   also.
  17.         You'll find this course challenging, I hope.  You can let it out off    
  18.   the tee as most fairways roll toward the middle. But the toughness here is
  19.   on the greens.  They are extremely large (sometimes over 100 ft putts) and
  20.   undulating. Both features are relatively realistic compared to the reality
  21.   of this course.  My practice rounds to "proof" the course led to some
  22.   pretty high scores, even for me.

  24.         I play this course regularly, and think I have captured it pretty
  25.   well.  The special characteristics of the course are it's huge rolling 
  26.   greens and concave fairways. Obviously Fingers and Dye liked grass
  27.   bunkers as well as sand.

  29.         It has been my desire for some time to do this course, and waited
  30.   til I thought I was up to it. Fantasy courses are considerably easier, to
  31.   me, than real ones.  I think I did a credable job with this one.
